The course of study of instructional leadership principles provides comprehension of significant constitutional, legislative, administrative and case law in addition to ethical standards and dilemmas as they relate to daily operations of Texas schools. Students gain knowledge of the legal structure in which education occurs and how administrators’ decisions affect encompassing entities within. Students will understand the TEA rule, the Texas Education Code, state and federal laws.
- The course of study of instructional leadership principles provides essential knowledge and interpersonal expertise to achieve the managerial tasks of support to teachers and professional development. Students learn how to implement various techniques of professional development, particularly job-related professional development, and how to employ the appropriate procedure toward progressive management. Successful completion of Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) training is required as part of this course. [State approved PDAS training is required as partial completion of this course.]
